We reserved a space to tour Savannah and stayed 3 nights. Unfortunately it was quite a drive to the campground from the city (40-45 miles). But the campground was close to the base and the amenities (commissary, exchange, etc.) Rustic but enjoyable and quiet. The lake is beautiful!
This wasn't bad, but while we were there, they had horseflies the size of your thumb! And they were everywhere. Went to the Exchange and bought outdoor fogger. Helped a bit. But mainly stayed in the RV and watched TV. Easy check in. No office on site. Did it all on the phone. In fact, we never saw another person in the RV area. A few RV's ... no people. ...
Very well kept. We had full hookups. A bit more expensive than other military RV parks, but convenient to everything and gated. Much less expensive than KOA's and other civilian campgrounds. Easy check in with the office next to the park entrance. Would recommend.
We knew we couldn't make reservations (we checked in advance) so we called on the road and they had several openings. Stayed 3 nights. Very inexpensive ($15/night for full hookups!) and friendly. Very quiet. Laundry facility, restrooms with showers, etc. We would definitely stay here again if we're in the area. Walking distance to the Exchange and Commissary (even for a 70 year old!)
