We stopped for a single overnight while transiting the area. There are 10 back-in sites that are in great condition. There is only one available site here tonight. It's a bit of a hike from I-10 just for an overnight, so I'm not sure I'd do that again but if I had a reason to be here for a few days this park would be high on my list. It looks like they have room for...
This is a great campground and everyone we've met has been helpful. The security force at the gate is the most pleasant, professional group we've seen. The directions were perfect. Most of the sites are pull through. The pad is concrete and has a picnic table. They do not allow slides to extend beyond the concrete pad over the grass. There is a nice laundry, a small commissary, exchange and gas station on base. ...
I'll start with the negatives first. OK, there are no negatives for us. Making a reservation was easy. I had to leave a message but I did receive a call back in a few hours, unlike some other famcamps I've dealt with recently. Check in was easy. I asked for a site where I could receive satellite and that's what I got. The base is very large and well kept. The mountains in the distance are very...
I'm having a difficult time reviewing F.E. Warren for our June stay because it was much better than a terrible stay in 2010. I did everything possible to make sure my reservation was correct and had a text and email verifying the reservation, but in spite of best efforts, it was screwed up and someone else was in the site they assigned me to. After some anxious waiting they found me a spot. My overall stay was...
Stopped for two nights in a motorhome. Water and good 50 amps only. No other facilities, with two pull throughs and 4 back ins. It so convenient to I95 that it works great for us. There is a money drop box or you can call MWR during normal working hours. In past years we were the only ones here. This place must have been discovered. When we got here Friday there was one...
I read the previous review and I agree the grass is cut and the dumpster was not over flowing. I was in site 23, a pull through for $38, and had great difficulty getting into my site and out of it because of tree limbs and branches that scraped the sides and roof of my coach. There was also what I believe a telephone junction box in my site, front right, by the road that was probably 40...
Doug Simpson's review in July pretty much is my assessment also. I gave the campground slightly higher marks because except for no sewer hookups, it's a perfect overnight stop if traveling on I95. It's close to the interstate and probably half the price of anything close. I'm worried we may lose it due to limited usage. There was no one here when Doug got here in July and no one here in October. Snow birds...
I agree with all comments in the previous review. This military campground is a gem mainly because the other military campgrounds in New Jersey have issues. For us it's perfectly positioned to visit family. The campground manager, Muriel goes out of her way to assist. It's an annual stop for us and I'd like to say thank you to the campground manager, the base CO and MWR Director and I hope they continue to support the...
We've also stayed here before and love it. The location is hard to beat and the campground is well run and well maintained. The long time manager, Bob has retired and the new manager is continuing to run a well maintained campground. One positive change is that you can now reserve a waterfront site for $2 more. Glad to see that the old staff is mostly still here. In Woody's case the emphasis is on "Old." ...
This is our favorite campground in the country and we have stayed at military CG's coast to coast. If you read a few of the reviews here, all the positive things reported are spot on. Location, friendly hard working staff and great facilities are the things that make this campground special. This trip I've had contact with the manager, Bob Baylis and staff members Woody, Jean and Ed. They could not have been more friendly or professional. ...
If I hadn't talked to the host this morning I would have rated this famcamp higher in hospitality and overall experience. They do not take reservations here and have a 14 day stay limit. I have no problem with that and think it’s fair. Albuquerque has a popular balloon festival that starts next week. When I checked in yesterday, the female host, (Kelly) asked me how long I wanted to stay and that would determine where...
We just got here today but wanted to get a quick review done while I had the time and motivation. I think the normal host is on vacation and I dealt with De. I hope I spelled his name right. He was most helpful get a reservation and he was on a golf cart when I pulled in and he led me to my site. This is the most inexpensive famcamp we've ever stayed at and...
I'm writing this review while at the FE Warren Famcamp for an overnight stay after a long day's drive and a frustrating experience about my reservation. I made a reservation one week ago for a 50 amp FHU pull through. When I asked if they could send a confirmation email I was told they did not have email and didn't give confirmation numbers. To be safe, I called yesterday to confirm my reservation. I reached the manager,...
What a great campground to tour Mount Rushmore and the Black Hills. One thing that made our visit even better was the campground hosts. There are two couples that share the duties. They start early and finish late. Last night a motorhome arrived and after registering his rig would not start. A number of folks tried to help him but Gary, the host, took him to WalMart at 2300 to get new starting batteries. ...
This was our second stay at Earle. I think it is a tremendous asset for us. I worry about how long the base will be there because it looks like a ghost town. Even the campground was sparsely used during our June visit. Go check it out, you’ll enjoy it.
What a great place. Very convenient if you're traveling I-95. The place is super clean and the grounds well manicured. BZ to the staff and host campers. Has got to be in the top 2 or 3 military campgrounds in the country. What else can you say. The cable TV is great, the high speed wireless internet is fast, the laundry is well equipped and free. Gotta love it. Safe travels to...
