First time at this great little Famcamp! Clean, well maintained, and very hospitable camp hosts (who invited us up to sit by the fire after we set up). Especially liked the grassy and shady primitive area. Only negatives: some homesteaders and expensive WiFi. We'll definitely use this one again on our many trips: Albuquerque to Pittsburgh (especially now that our GPS knows how to find it)!

We originally booked one of the yurts for a two week period, but after three nights, we packed it in and headed out to a private RV park at Stoney Creek. Seward Resort is very noisy, with a coal ship loading facility, Alaska Railroad marshaling yard, and the Seward Highway all in close proximity. We lucked out and obtained quarters at the BOQ, and enjoyed a first-class mess hall, well stocked BX and commissary, all located in one central area. Anticipating a near future stay again in the Fairbanks area, we drove over to the Eielson FAMCAMP to check it out. We were underwhelmed to say the least: although the facility had been officially open for two weeks, the parking pads were overgrown with weeds, and the one restroom/shower that was unlocked was...

Stopped in on our way to Alaska, our first experience in a military FAMCAMP. Both the manager (Howard) and the camp host were professional and friendly, and the toilets, showers, and laundry facility were clean and well maintained. Base facilities are well signed and all together in one area, all within walking distance of the FAMCAMP. We didn't use the BX or the mess facility, but we did use the commissary - is large and well-stocked. Two additional interesting attractions...
