Two week stay in RV with a visit by a bunch of family that stayed in a cabin for a weekend. Managers Mike and Dennis made everyone welcome. Always enjoy our stay and sharing our experience with family was a plus. Remember that this is a fishing camp with few amenities and lots of dust. Just the way we like it!
First of all lets realize that you won't stay anywhere else in the Monterey area for $26. Now having said that, this place is as bad as other reviewers have said. I am really at a loss for words. If you're going to stay awhile you may want to bring your own weedeater. The guy next to me had to borrow a saw and trim some tree branches. The ground squirrels and gophers have so many holes dug...
A really well laid out and maintained campground. Spacious sites of green grass. Level asphalt parking pads and concrete patios with table. Really quite, very little noise from the U2's. Not much to see or do in the area. A long drive into town. Several nice fishing lakes right at the rv park. Lots of areas to ride bikes or walk. Great place rest, relax and read a book. Used the laundry and it good.
Just a parking lot with hookups. Was impressed with how well maintained the camp was. Troops train about 14 hours a day and seven days a week. The activity and even small arms noise was not a problem. However on Saturday morning we discovered that the live hand grenade range is right behind the rv park and do mean RIGHT BEHIND. I had forgotten how loud they are and after an hour or so we left for...
This place is great. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable. We only used the laundry and it was good. The sites are of ok size but the vegetation along the outside of fence blocks the view. Short walk or you can drive to the beach. Beach is dog friendly. Wish could have stayed longer and will look forward to returning.
Another great stay. Mike and crew do a great job of making you welcome. Some sites are small and not really good for large units with slides. This not a resort. It is a fishing camp and that's the way we like it!
Third time at this park. Vickie 'n George are great hosts. Great place to stay to visit local area attractions of which there are many. Wouldn't recommend for families with children as there are no facilities for them to safely play. Landscape is rocky and wooded. Ft. Tuthill in Flagstaff would be a better choice for children. About 20 miles into town for shopping, either Flagstaff or Williams.
The new park is just past the old one. If it doesn't look new, your in the wrong place. Great place to stay while visiting the surrounding area. About 30 min to the French Quarter. Only complaint, wifi slow as dial up and unusable.
My favorite so far. Lots to see and do or just relax. First park Military or civilian that I have hated to leave and will look forward to coming back for a longer stay. Kayaking in the bay with dolphins all around you, just don't get no better.
Clean and well kept park. Nice area to visit and near post facilities. Orientation of some sites have your entry opening next to the road. Our fire ring was only about 3 ft from the road. Rebar sticking up through railroad ties around the gravel pad was a trip and safety hazard. Obviously been that way for a long while. Hard to believe the military doesn't inspect the place. The 120 day rule is with a wink and a...
I love this place. Only negative, noise from interstate and train but you get used to it. Ed the camp host is great. Works really hard to fix the place up and it shows. Great base from which to site see the area.
Arrived at the commercial gate and found numerous traffic barriers to zig zag through. Not a problem with a 30 footer, but 40 DP's must have fun. Parked at the camp and used toad to go and sign in since they assign spaces. Really booked up that weekend, on Saturday there were about 20 units. Very little grass around camp spots, mostly weeds. Had to cut a few knee high ones around the pad. The noise from the...
Don't know anything about the hotel, but if you have an RV I would look elsewhere for a place to stay. Luke AFB should be ashamed to put there name on this.
Stayed about 10 days over the 4th of July 2011. When we entered a civilian security officer glanced around inside our coach and wished us a nice stay. Security? well I was only asked to show my driver license to gain access. Security personnel were friendly and professional. Camp hosts were great and In fact all the campers were really friendly. There was a review that said "Beer not allowed on base" which is not correct. We were invited...
