I went to this campground on a week day and the security person at the gate told me that the campground office was closed and I could not enter unless I had a permit, My DOD ID card was not good enough. This was my very first stay at any military campground and I plan on many more. Pelican Roost is a very nice facility although its a little breezy at times. The roost had 2 big screen TVs and several computers for campers use, plus free wifi and laundry. While there I enjoyed the ice cream social and pot luck. I was a little disappointed that the fast food franchises on the base charged our military men and women higher prices...
