This military campground is difficult to rate. First, I was in Site 11 for 11 days, where we had a view of both the Atlantic Ocean and the river. So the view from our campsite was spectacular. However, setting up on the site itself was one of most challenging sites I've ever experienced in five years of RVing. The site is perched where the cliffs are deteriorating, so in order to keep campers and RV's safe,...

We camped for two nights on our 31' Class A motorcoach. This is a very nice quiet campground. All the sites have a concrete pad and FHU. I think the cost is a little high, but it is a very nice campground, and it was busy, so making reservations in advance is suggested. We did get to experience some War of 1812 history in the area as well.

The campground at Fort Belvoir was one of my best military campground experiences. I was in Site 40 for one week. It was directly above the Potomoc River and my site was level. I noticed the sloping ground conditions throughout and that some of the sites might not be easy to get level, but back in at Site 40 was perfect. As I sat on my picnic table, I couldn't help to think about George Washington...

This campground was convenient because I wanted to visit Fort Bragg and see the change that had occurred since serving there years ago. For this purpose, my stay at Smith Lake campground served me well. However, the campground has several disappointing conditions. Too many of the sites are not level and it would be difficult to get level. Also, the entire road at the campground is gravel and during dry conditions, the amount of dust created...

I was disappointed that I couldn't get a reservation at Charleston AFB, but after staying at Goose Creek for one week, I was pleasantly surprised with our stay at this campground. First, there isn't a security gate to this campground, but we felt very safe and secure. One has to travel through a military housing area to get there so this helps keep people out that don't belong there. As far as the campground, its basic, but...

This RV park is convenient to visit Savannah. Everyone should visit River Street and hopefully see a cargo ship travel by during its trip into port. Fort Pulaski is not far to appreciate history and to enjoy a picnic. The historic house tours of Savannah are very enjoyable. Sign up for one or several or perform a hop on hop off bus tour. Also, you may want to make time to just sit and enjoy one...

If you like the high desert then you will like this RV Park. Overall this park is newer with great facilities and is reasonably priced. Not a lot to do around the area, but Ridgecrest has more shopping and restaurants than what I thought would exist. We used this three day stay to “reset” after camping for several weeks north along Route 395, which was a great experience. The only complaint is that the laundry room had one washer out...

This is not a traditional RV campground. A closed lighthouse that requires a key to unlock a gate when you come and go is not traditional. However, we found our visit to be quite pleasant. If you have an RV, it better not be too big or you will be challenged getting in. Getting through the front gate is tight and manuevering to your site and getting level can be a challenge. We stayed at Site 6 in a...

This FAMCAMP is conveniently located to Tacoma and the surrounding areas. You could visit sites at Seattle from this location, but competing with the traffic would be a challenge. It is a reasonable location to perform a day trip to Mount Rainier National Park, which I'd highly recommend. On base, the FAMCAMP is convenient to the Base XChange and Commissary. Most sites are shaded amongst large and very tall trees. Great in the summer, but may be a challenge...

This is a gorgeous military RV Park! The flowers at the park are amazing and the elevated view directly on the water is spectacular. There is also plenty of history on the island, numerous state parks to visit ,and very comfortable temperatures so one can enjoy nature and the entire island during the summer months. Having said that, the jets are "loud" and they fly a lot; especially during the week and in the early evening until around 1030pm....

Edwards is out in the middle of nowhere and as a result, I believe $30/night is too costly. The only reason I came here was to store my RV for the winter and that worked out fine, but in my opinion, the Famcamp is not very good value. There really isn't an office, but one has to find the MWR office, and arrange your stay. Unless one has a specific reason to visit Edwards, I wouldn't visit this Famcamp....

The campground at Point Loma Naval Station is a parking lot directly on the bay at San Diego with striping to accomodate RVs. These RV sites are all boondocking sites. The views and location don't get much better and the spacing between sites is fairly reasonable. Before you arrive, I would disconnect your towed vehicle before going through the gate. The plastic barricades are too close together which makes arrival on base a challenge. For those who have fifth...

The entire base could use more TLC. Vandenburg appears to be a base supporting space missions which during these days may not be the highest priority. This is my assumption. There are a lot of abandoned and unused structures that probably had purpose in the past and the quantity of downed trees that lie around waiting to contribute to the always present fire risk seems unwise. The FamCamp is filled with long term stay active Airmen, Retirees and Contractors....

The staff is great and very flexible to satisfy your needs. This RV Park is all about the Monterey area. So much to do it was easy to stay here for several weeks and remain busy every day. Unfortunately, it is near the runway of the Monterey Regional Airport, so there will be aircraft noise. In addition, the golf course lawn equipment start operations early in the morning, so that is noisy too. However, these two noise issues are...

I arrived on a Sunday without a reservation. This is the only day of the week that the Outdoor Recreation Center is closed. As I pulled in at Williams FAMCAMP, the skies let loose with a rain and hail storm. During the storm, the campground host drove her car over to where I was parked and told me there was one spot left and that I could have it for the night. What Great Service! I decided to stay...
