I really enjoyed this famcamp when I stayed last year, was cheaper than USAFA and location was great (can access from East without city traffic). Short distance to Metro stations for going downtown. Walking paths for exercise. Bathroom and laundry facility was good (but washers take a looooong time). Only negative is lack of shade. Had planned to stay a week this year too, but they raised their rate to $40. I just can't pay that.
Not impressed. Quite pricey, I guess because of location. We had a pull through, full hookup site at top of hill. Just gravel, side by side, so nothing to write home about. There is a grassy area in front that has picnic tables and grills. Overlooks the ocean, kind of, past 2 high chain link fences protecting everyone from the cliff. I think it is so awesome to have military locations for RVers. DM is huge and provides for alot of snowbirds, which is great. Sites are a little compact, but the alternative would not accommodate as many. In addition to all the full hookup sites, they have a number of overflow sites for those not desiring hookups, or as a temporary parking spot while waiting on availability. I was hesitant to stay here due to the reviews, glad I gave it a chance. It is a very beautiful campground on a lake. Very quiet. I don't see any ghetto trailer park likeness at all.
