Review Detail

We like to stay at military campgrounds. The reviews we looked at were positive. Unfortunately we did not experience the same. We had a reservation and confirmation number. We arrived at the campground about 2:00pm. No one at the office with a "Closed for Training" sign on the door. Our name was not listed on the "Reservation Board". No one answered the "contact for assistance" phone number or email address posted on the office door. I walked the entire campground and there was not 1 empty campsite. In the mean time, 2 more 5th wheels pulled in behind us, also with reservations and confirmation numbers. We had no choice but to look for another campground nearby. We had to pay $123 to stay there. The next day a different MWR employee, then the campground manager, called us. She provided about 50 excuses about why they have a hard time running the campground. She never did explain how, or why, they intentionally let at least 3 incoming campers, with reservations, come to the campground when they knew there were no spots available.
