Our camping experience here was the greatest. The gate guards were very helpful and we had made a reservation ahead of time. We checked out a fishing boat and 3 kayaks and a paddle boat. MWR was awesome! They even have ladder ball and bikes you can check out and the gentleman at MWR was very helpful and gentlemen that took our reservation on the phone was very helpful. There is no swimming there because of big snappers but fishing was great! The club was open for lunch every day and it was fantastic all the base workers must go there for chow hall. It was fantastic baked chicken mashed potatoes and gravy green beans and homemade biscuits homemade soup and salad bar for less than $10.00. The bathrooms were very clean and nice it was very peaceful and we enjoyed it immensely.

I stayed here two nights. I did not have a reservation and got in late on a Sunday night. The gate guard was VERY helpful. There were only two available campsites. The campsites are all dirt and the one I had was no where near level, hence why it was still available. No 30 or 50 amp service. I was able to connect my 30amp with an adapter and the AC ran perfectly. I also ran an extension cord and powered small electronics that way. Power was NOT a problem for me and it was VERY hot. The staff was friendly and helpful. Bath house was clean and very good showers. Very small base with NO commissary, just a small shoppette with limited items. BRING FOOD with you. a small creek runs by the campground and canoes and kayaks can be rented. Overall, a nice campground and if in the area I would return.

Most important note - the electricity is 20 amp. The lots are small and not clearly marked and mostly soft sand. This is not a good camp for large 5th wheels. We did not stay because of the low amp electricity. It was unseasonably hot and would not run the A/C on 20 amp. The camp ground is not level but very shady with a lake nearby. Our orange leveling blocks sank into the sand. If you have a smaller/lighter camper and do not use A/C; this would be a great spot. At $11 a night you can't beat it.

This is a new campground. The roads are gravel. Site are not level and close together. They do have equipment rentals and it sets right next to a small river. Pavilion available for larger groups. Restrooms are ok. Most of the campers are Nation Guards Unit on summer duty. Sites are all well shaded. You can watch the jets taking off and landing. They fly right over the campground so be prepared for some loud noise. The gate has barricades and it is easy to mover thru with a large motorhome. Would not recommend the place for large motorhome's Just a small store available to purchase stuff but not much you could use.
