This FanCamp is horribly managed. I reserved a full hookup spot 2 months prior to my arrival. Once I got here the person in the office told me to go to site 29, and the camp host directed to that site. I tried everything to try to level out my camper and the site was so small I couldn’t get close to level. I walked to the office and the girl said I can refund your money that’s all she can do. I told her I reserved months in advanced and told them I needed a fairly level site for my month stay. I asked who the camp host was and she walked me over to his location and he stated I have nothing to do with assigning the sites. I finally asked who her boss was and called Conner. He told me he would work this out and call me back. He had the girl at the front desk look at the schedule and she decided I could stay for my reserved month but I had to move a total of 5 times. After the first week of being here, many site became available for a couple of days but I was told I had to continue with the sites she provided earlier. One site that was closed for maintenance finally opened up and I asked if I could go to that site, she allowed me to go there for the 3 days she had me in overflow. I still am required to move 3 more times to complete my 1 month stay. The campground bath houses are dirty with slime in the showers and some of toilets have been out of service. This is the worst campground I have ever stayed at in my 3 years of RVing. Management needs to come to the campground unannounced and see the condition of this campground and address the people they have working here.

Worst facilities, nasty bathrooms, no AC. Mowing only done in front part of park. Less than desirable rigs allowed. Grass so high, it's dangerous with no dog station and ditch closed for erosion. Very dangerous for little kids. None of the supervisors available for a discussion. Camp host is the only good thing about this park. I would give him 100% supervision. Reservations made two months ahead with desire for closer to back and not beside office for a 6 day stay, was told we were transient, moved but to the worst part of the park. Much work needed. So sad to see this after visiting many other famcamp. Have stayed here many times, deterioration was quite evident this trip. Cleanliness and Hospitality are two different reviews..not fair to such a wonderful camp host. 1 fir cleanliness, 5 for camp host. Left a day early...just undesirable for one more day. Trucks and cars parked on grass behind rigs, visually difficult to back out.

We’ve camped in FAMCAMPs across the US. This famcamp rates no more than a 2.5. Laundry facilities were typical. Bath house was typical. However, this famcamp, overall, was seriously disappointing. Our campsite #21 was the WORST campsite we’ve ever camped on. Pad was unusable bc large cement poles, on hook-up side were too high to extend the slide. Therefore, we we had to camp in the grass to extend slides on both sides, where a huge electric box takes up 1/3 of the awning area. We could not sit under the awning of use the picnic table. The electric box also blocked use of 2 storage bins. Exit road is very narrow. Grass was long and needed trimming. Dead branches were everywhere. If properly maintained, this famcamp has the potential to be a much better facility. The BEST and only thing going for this famcamp is the price.

New AFI restricts visits to 3 months, then out for a month. Snowbirds be aware! Facilities are terrible, NO maintenance at this campground! They say they are building a new facility, but have been saying this for well over a year now with no construction in sight. The garbage dumpsters may or may not get emptied weekly, the flies will let you know for sure! The grass cutting is abysmal at best, tall grass everywhere! Even around the power pedestals, so watch out for creepy critters! Bathhouses, 50's vintage and falling apart! The kids that work there are nice, just have no comprehension of RV's or running a campground. Washers and dryers, forget it, most are broke and have been for over a year. Sites are OK, unless you go to the back, then you have to hope you don't drag the rear bumper or high-center your rig trying to get on your site. The Air Force should be embarrassed to have this site listed in their inventory.

What a goat rope. Very hard for larger RV’s to manage thru the small roads and very steep and badly angled sites. When we arrived, the young lady at reception office gave us a spot we couldn’t fit in, then gave us another spot with directions to enter the wrong way, then said I don’t know anything about RV’ or camping. Famcamp is not actually on the base, the road entering the area is tight, along with turning in and out of campground. I don’t recommend for 36 ft RV or larger. Very disappointed

Don't use the Bathhouse if at all possible. Bathhouse is in drastic need of upgrades. The two toilets are loose and seals are just about gone. Urinal is stained and handiecap grab handles are rusted. The two showers are stained and look ugly. Sinks are also ugly and mirrors hanging loose or propped up on the countertop.

We stopped by Keesler RV FamCamp after driving around for half an hour. We missed a turn and went on base. Big Mistake. The FamCamp is not on base and hard to find. We entered the FamCamp and found the office closed. The sign said to see the Camp Host but no site was listed. We drove around the campground and a woman came out of one of the bathrooms and unlocked the office. Not sure who she was. She said that there are no facilities there but suggested that we go to Shields nearby, which we did and are glad we did.

We found an attendant sitting behind the desk with his feet up on the table. We visited for more than 30 minutes with the attendant Joe, and a co-worker. He didn’t move the entire time we visited. Not that impressed with the help or the park. Joe told us they had only one site and it was intended for a small 28 ft trailer or less available. He had no idea when there would be an opening. He pointed us in the direction of the overflow for the night but after driving through the park we chose to go onto the Shield RV Park for the week. The park is well used and run down and has several homestead occupants. We found one unit with rusted wheels and body that looked as if hadn’t moved in years. According to one of the fellow RV’rs the occupant had not moved in over 7 years. Wow what an operation. The park is not intended for large units as it has several concrete back-ends with 2 ft or more drops off. We found this park very difficult to park our 34 ft Allegro. This park is run down and needs a facelift of buildings, park facilities, and a general weeding of homestead occupants and employees. This unprofessional operation is a site to behold. If you desire trees, and crowded sites packed together on concrete pads with 2 ft drop offs, enjoy. Price might be inviting but the amenities are far less than expected for an Air Force Base operation.

Directions to this camp are good. They take you through a residential area with narrow paved streets. There is no guard gate to go through to get to this camp. It is just a street off a residential area with a sign. When we left Panama City base, I called. They told me to call back when we got within an hour of the base. So I did, but no one answered. I called every 15 minutes, but no one ever answered the phone and no answering machine. We arrived during office hours as posted on the door. But the door was locked and CLOSED was showing. We called the security office as phone number listed. The base security said they had nothing to do with the FAM CAMP. While we sat there wondering what to do, a man (later found out he was Joe) came out of his camper, got into his golf cart and drove down to meet us. He said he was out of the office because he was parking another camper. He said they were full but we could park in overflow at $10 a night. We said the book said overflow was $6 a night, he said the book was old. After taking our money and giving us a receipt he said he wrote the code to the bathroom/showers on the receipt. Neither code worked for us. He said the phones were out. He showed us where to park, which was on the grass right next to another RV. The electrical box had 2 places to plug in, and the water had 2 spigots. So we had water and electric and cable tv if we wanted it. No Wifi. Joe didn't seem all that friendly. When he left us he said that if we needed anything to call. How could we if the phones were out? We never saw him again. We will never stay at this FAM CAMP again. I didn't feel safe here. It doesn't seem like it is on a base at all. We only spent the one night.

I was unable to get a full service site and stayed in the dry camp area with electricity provided by a long extension cord. I'm not sure how one ever can get into a full site nor how long one can stay. For the most part it appeared to be a trailer park with rvs set up in a permanent fashion. That thought was confirmed on departure day when we were emptying our waste tanks and saw newspapers being delivered to most of the sites. I guess my biggest problem is that if it is a campsite it should be a campsite. If it is a trailer park it should be a trailer park. There should at least be a system with some visibility as to if and when one can get into a site and some limitation as to how long one can occupy a site. I don't want to seem uncaring knowing that area suffered from a hurricane a year and a half ago, but if things are ever going to get back to normal... then they really must get back to normal. As an overnight stay for a night or two this was okay. If one wants to spend some time in the area with full services you should look elsewhere. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. They are making the best of what they have.

With 1 being the lowest and 5 the best - I gave it the ratings I thought it truly deserved. Going into the designated entrance to the Famcamp was no big deal. As soon as you enter you have three choices as to which way to turn (naturally there were no directions or lights and construction was evident all over the place). After trying 2 wrong selections we finally found our way to the camp office. We arrived about 8:00pm and the office was closed - so I went to the park spot designated as the park host. TV was playing inside and vehicle parked outside. I knocked on the door twice - No answer. Parked in what I perceived to be overflow parking. My wife went to the ladies room and came back and said it requires an unknown combination. Naturally, we could use our our trailer's facilities - so no big deal. Next morning still no one available. We wanted to pay for our stay, but since no host was available - we finally just left. By the way, it was the left road to choose after entering.
