Easy access thru commercial gate. We stayed at Remington Park Campground. There are about 20 RV sites and 26 great looking cabins. Concrete pad with grass/gravel approach. Sites are huge. We could fit probably three of our 42' 5th wheel on our site and our closest neighbor was 100' away. Lots of great grassy areas. No cable or internet but satellite and starlink worked great. Nice commissary and exchange. Huge dog park and playground across the street. Lots of hiking/biking trails. Can get Fed Ex and UPS deliveries. Great staff. Very well maintained, clean and quiet. Short drive to Watertown and tours to the Boldt Castle. Was so nice to see a military campground that is being taken care of and improved.

This campground has 2 physical locations, the main one with 10 sites and one on officers row with an additional 10 sites that was added around 2018ish. I stayed in the officers row location as it was out of the main park. All sites are 50A with full hookups. Prices went up a bit, still $40/night but now $250/week and $700/month. The officers row location has no bathroom, but the main campground is about 1.7 miles away. The bathroom/showers were clean and well-built. The main gate and commercial gate were no problem for my 13ft6in 5th wheel and neither had barricades. AT&T stinks and T-mobile is decent at around 10-15. The exchange and commissary were large. The check-in was easy and the people running the park were very nice.

We are full time RVers and travel from famcamp to famcamp and have been to a lot of them. We stayed at the Officers loop area and loved it! They have concrete pads and full hook ups. The directions were just ok (wasn’t told that Officers Loop was in a different location). But all it took was asking another camper to get the right directions. We really enjoyed the base, the weather and the general area. We exercise everyday and the gym here was one of the best with an indoor 50M pool that had fantastic hours!! (A lot of bases don’t have their pools open or with very limited hours due to lack of lifeguards). We plan on going back every summer!

Stayed for week, very quiet, nice visit. A couple of hints on directions--The entrance gate closest to the park is off Hwy 26, and it is on Ontario Ave, not Oneida. GPS coordinates for that gate are +44.044600/-75.743050 (the coordinates on this website are for the main gate on the opposite side of the post). The gate is large enough for any rig--no serpentine and is open 24 hours. The rest of the directions are correct, and the road to the campground is posted as Pech River Rd, however Google lists it as Remington Pond Rd. Once you turn onto Pech Rd, the entrance to the campground and office is the 2nd entrance on the left, Terry's Terrace. Signage is pretty poor throughout the recreation area--If you go further you could wind up in a tight spot for a turn around, especially with a large rig. The weekly rate for a RV site is actually $225, daily is $40 (listed on the Ft Drum website as well). The flyer attached to this website is very outdated (as far as the price goes). Probably some of the largest and longest RV sites I've seen anywhere. I have a 40' 5th wheel and a 1 ton truck--that took up about half the site length, and all of the sites are pull-through. Absolutely no complaints about the stay itself, and the limited interaction with the staff was pleasant. Laundry room is 2 washers/2 dryers ($1.50/wash, $3.00/dry). Still no cable or WiFi, but Dish and OTA worked well. Verizon had good service at about 10-12 MB download in the evening, otherwise about 30-40MB.

We stayed at the Officers loop section of Remington pond campground. It was a long term stay so we weren't at the Remington pond specific campground. The officers loop campground is quiet and very simple. Sites are level concrete with full hook ups. some space between sites but nothing between them for privacy. There is a decent playground. The laundry is at the Remington Pond specific campground. Overall the officers loop section is fine for a long term stay but not for a fun camping trip.

I tent camped for 1 week. I was tild I could choose any site, I informed staff which sight I was in. The next day they told me I had to move because someone else really wanted that spot. I was the only camper there, and I have to move? Staff did not inform me of shower, laundry locations so it was much work for me to find it on base, to learn later, it was at the main office. Bathroom was VERY dirty with cobwebs and bugs to clogged toilets and overflowing trash cans. I mentioned this and was told an outside company tends to "those" bathrooms. Otherwise, there are so many hiking trails for all abilities, large wooded sites, on base with lots of amenities nearby.

Come in the Onieda gate make a right at the light and drive till you see the Remington Park sign on the right, turn and the campground is on the left, take the second entrance once you start to see the cabins. Check in is at the large cabin on your left as you enter the park. It's not clearly marked as to be seen as the office from the road. Vary large sites, plenty of room and not even half full in July. Gravel drive with concrete pad and well placed modern hookups. Office is staffed everyday from 8 to 4, no camp host. Office building has showers and laundry with other bathrooms scattered about the park. Park has some really good hiking and biking trails .. I would suggest you visit the Laray Mansion historic site amongst the trails on base. The price is what it is, might seem high compared to other Fam camps but it's a bargain compared to commercial parks in the north east.

After full-timing it for 5 years, I can say I’ve been to many, many DOD campgrounds, so I’m aware of what’s possible. Spent three nights at Fort Drum in “Officer’s Loop,” the new stretch of RV sites there. It was peaceful, and the staff I spoke to (Steve and Abby) weren’t just polite they were delightful to talk to. Nevertheless, there is nothing but a hook-up site for the $35 you pay to be there. Perhaps they have plans, but so far there are no other amenities, and you’d have to rent a jetpack instead of gaining access to a site WIFI account. You do get a picnic table..... :o) Normally if you pay $35/night you get laundry rooms, showers, a small rec room/day room, dog park area, etc. So either Remington is in the midst of growing pains or this is Army life and ya better suck it up. Not sure which! LOL However, I had a very peaceful escape, and that’s just what I was searching for. Fort Drum is a great northern NY location from which to see lots of what the Finger Lakes are of the state has to offer. If you read the Army post’s website, you’ll discover there are some 15,000 troops there with the Mountain Division. I saw troops marching here and there, and the PX was loaded with them getting lunch in the food court, which has Qdoba, Panda Express and lots of great kiosk vendors. I will be going back.....my needs are simple and Steve and Abby made it seem very welcoming. Thanks!

Location - Watertown is only about 10 miles away to the south. Thousand Islands and Alex Bay is about 40 minutes to the north. Adirondack mountains 3 hours to the east. Niagra Falls 4 plus hours to the west. Value – Aside from the lack of amenities. This is the HIGHEST PRICED FAMCAMP ON PLANET EARTH. Cleanliness – Our experience has been hit and miss. But when they miss, they miss big. See photo. Amenities – This needs drastic improvement. No vending machines, No firewood, No Rec room, No Internet, No cable, No Ice, No toilet paper, No trees, No service after 16:00. The Dog Park has no water or bags, so there is poop everywhere. There is a pond with a beach, but high bacteria levels keep it closed much of the summer. Overall Experience – We have stayed here for years for its convenient location to family. However, FMW-R is under new leadership. Prices have dramatically increased. Customer service and hospitality is now a nightmare. They are starting to strictly enforce a 60-day maximum stay. They decided to tell us this in the middle of our contract, during the pandemic. After 8 years of doing business with them. WE will not be back.

When entering off of Tigris River valley rd, there is no Remington Park rd, it’s pech river rd. Signage could be better when entering. Sites are on wetlands, be careful when entering sites, very loose dirt and grass ( I sunk 1 1/2 ft). Sites are very long and open, not wide. Have to pay $5 @ day for WiFi.

Campground staff are very knowledgeable and go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable. Make sure you reserve well in advance for an RV site or Cabin. Call and reserve your site in March for the summer. In the summer the campground is very full. Your receipt for your reserved site will be emailed to you. Don't expect everyone to move out of your way if you arrive without a reservation. If you show up without a reservation you will be in an overflow spot unless you choose to go somewhere else. Very large pull through sites for RVs. Overall a very good campground.

We are in overflow - reservations of 2 months ignored. Paying full price without a sewer. No one we have spoken to has any responsibility - each passes the blame up the channel. We cannot even put our kitchen and bedroom slide out because the overflow pad is immediately next to one of the cabins. VERY DIFFICULT SITUATION, AND NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE. If you want to come to Ft. Drum, make sure you have a site # assigned and valid, printed email confirmation. Because we are on the road, and have no printer, they would not accept my email on the phone. This place is new and boy do they need experienced people!!!

Overall, a nice park in a quiet location on base. It is overpriced at the daily rate, both compared to other famcamps and for the local area, but the weekly rate is not bad if you can stay that long. The sites are very large, with the only negative being there are no trees, so not much privacy. The whole camp is impeccably maintained, and the famcamp staff was outstanding. The outdoor rec staff was friendly and tried to be helpful, but they were not as knowledgeable as the famcamp staff. It was a little inconvenient to have to deal with the two offices, rather than just the famcamp staff. There are fantastic trails over in the Remington park area. No wifi, except for sale (again, daily rate is exorbitant, but weekly rate not bad), but Verizon works good. Signage into the famcamp is a little confusing (says "RV attendant only, no thru way). Also, Pech River Road did not come up on my GPS, it said "Remington Pond Road." There is a tiny sign saying Pech River Road, but you can't see it till you're on top of it. Very nice park, but I probably wouldn't stay here again because of the rates.

Some of the information on this website is out of date. There are large drive through RV sites with full hook ups. There are no campers available for rent on the site. The Outdoor Recreation office on Fort Drum will rent you a camper to use in the RV park but they are not at the park. Remington Park has cabins available for rent. There are 21 cabins available. They have TV but no cable or wifi yet. We were told that wifi and cable are being installed in spring of 2016. You can rent a Verizon Jet Pack from the campground office. The campground office is only open Mon - Fri 0800 - 1600. After hours the camp host assists with check in and out. Be sure to call and make arrangements if you are arriving after hours. The park has a beach for swimming and boats for rent as well as great hiking trails and picnic areas for every event. Over all a large well kept up park.

First off, website says $28/night, actual cost is $35/night. Most expensive Military Campground that we have stayed at. Camp Lajuene, which recently raised their rates, is less money with full hookups & cable and a beach. Upon arriving I plugged in to the cable on the pedestal and couldn't get any cable. After making a phone call to the camp host I found out that they have the connection but its not hooked up to anything. There is no wifi unless you want to rent one of their jetpacks for a lot of money, or maybe use your own phone as a hotspot for free. Overall, large sites. Nice area. While walking our two dogs on their leashes, a brown and white dog came prancing along and went on our walk with us. He appeared to belong over in the far corner and no one seemed to miss him.
