We spent almost a month at Lemoore Campground in March/April 2007. We had a few problems finding our way to the campground, but the driving directions have been updated here. It was a very windy day and we were glad to stop driving sideways down the highway.

Check-in Office
ITT Office / RV Park Check-in / Cyber Cafe / Grill

We didn't have reservations, but there was plenty of space when we arrived. We arrived during normal business hours and met Jennifer, the campground manager at the Village Center/ITT office. This is where you check-in during business hours. The ITT office is next door to the campground, sharing a building with the Cyber Cafe and and a grill. If arriving after hours, there's a bulletin board at the entrance to the camground with instructions for self check-in. It looks confusing, as there's also slots for each campsite to put a card in telling you wheter that campsite is occuiped or not. However, we found many campsites occupied, although the slot relfected the site was available.

The RV Park is in the middle of the base. It's across the street from the gas station, next to the golf driving range, batting cage, swimming pool, ITT, and the Cyber Cafe. The theater is within walking distance. There were many nights we heard cars racing around on the street by the campground. We wondererd where the police was. Not neccessarily an ideal location for a RV Park. At least if your want a quiet area.

The RV Park itself is fairly bland. There's paved streets with concrete pads. Decorative rock is between the sites and have a BBQ and picnic table at each site. However, the gravel area is outlined with railroad ties. Although this may keep the rocks from spreading, it also makes it harder to maneauver into your site., especially for trailers and 5th wheels. Some sites were smaller than others. But the sites do include cable TV.

The base itself is fairly nice. We enjoyed the FREE movies at the theater, which is within walking distance of the RV Park. The Exchange and Commissary are also fairly decent. There is a laundry room at the RV Park with free washers and dryers; you will need to leave a $10 deposit to get a key. I tried using the Cyber Cafe which has free WiFi. WOW! This was the slowest Internet connection I've ever had. It was slower than dial-up! I asked about the speed and they responded there were too many users on it.

I guess I didn't enjoy it here too much, as most of what I think to say is a complaint. There's no camp host and we saw MANY people letting their dogs run loose and "leave packages" all over the place. The worst offender was an Active Duty lady staying at the campground. She had been there for over 5 months, but Active Duty is allowed to stay for 180 days. I wondered if she would be allowed to stay longer. We didn't see any other long-term residents (at least they didn't look long-term). My final complaint is about the pricing. It seemed a bit steep for this location, but I'm sure it's based on local prices.

Despite all of my compaints, I would stay here again - if I was in this area and couldn't find a better deal elsewhere.
