I have RV’d a lot. This CG has the most friendly, professional, cordial, accommodating staff anywhere! A big Hooah to the Ft Fisher staff! We like it here. It is unconventional and that is part of the charm. An aspect we particularly liked the unstructured nature. Families were able to have a fun time without a zillion “rules”…very few signs and the few that exist just identify boundaries. Zero "policing" by a CG Host or MP’s…and, yet, campers were quite sociable and responsible...amazing (not really)!. Golf carts are welcome. Biking (even, horrors, without helmets) is great and the beach is a reasonable walk away. Nice pier on the river side. The regular RV sites are quite nice. What is unconventional is the spreading of overflow sites around the post. We stayed in the conventional and overflow sites. Some are great and, some are less great. But, they are $13, and I was glad they were there!!! 2 weeks ago we paid $50 at the Wilmington KOA for a site that did not have sewer and we shared the patio area with our neighbor. And, there was no river or ocean nearby. I’ll take Ft Fisher anytime. And, there is a nice museum on post. Did I mention that the staff is superb???
