As others have pointed out, there’s not much here in terms of amenities. On the positive side, it does offer full hookups, most sites have full concrete pads, the sites are level and there’s a decent amount of space with some trees between sites. We also found it to be very quiet which is great if you’re looking for a good place to relax for a few days. On an unrelated note, I was really irritated that evening colors went at 4:30 (pm) every day with no regard to the actual sunset time. We never heard revile go.

Rates have gone up more than 50% since 2022 when we were here last. From $22/night, to $35/night. This is just a place to park with full hookups but nothing more. Everything is run down, old, and no amenities, other than location is good. Several years ago they had WiFi, but no longer. They once had a very nice trailer with 5 shower/bathrooms and a Laundry. Now just 2 showers and 1 washer and 1 dryer that works. So, the rates have gone up while the park has gone downhill. We only stay here because it is close to Charleston. Gov't facilities rarely get any more than the required maintenance to stay open. Pretty sad place, but if you just need a place to park it, here you go.

Nice little place! Dog friendly, several walking trails, basketball hoops, common fire pit and horseshoe pits, full hookups, flat, quiet! Park hosts accommodating. Thank you!

This is our second time at Foster Creek. It's nothing fancy but has all we need. FHU. Level pads. Quiet. Easy enough getting into downtown Charleston. We'll stay here again when back in the area.

It is in the middle of military family housing but there is no gate and it is not very well maintained. It is close to the NEX and other services and close to Charleston.

This is a small former mobile home park located on a non-gated Navy facility. It was easy to find and easy to access. The pads are in mostly pretty good shape and water and power were very reliable. The camp host is friendly and helpful. It is very quiet and we saw little traffic and plenty of open sites. It is close to Charleston and the Charleston Air Force Base. There are several sites to see in the area that provide historical background from the Revolutionary war, Civil War and up to today. We found an old cemetery not far away from the 1850's with some historic significance. Next to it was a German cemetery and a Greek cemetery plus a couple others. That was the good part. The bad part is this facility is very low on the priority list for maintenance. The grass was pretty high when we got there, and it was not cut during our stay. We saw a tree that had been damaged long enough ago that the leaves had dried up and nothing was done to clean it. Our first night saw our RV invaded by brown sugar ants, but some spray inside and ant killer outside stopped them. Be sure to bring ant killer. There are fire ants in the vicinity as well so be cautious where you step. We never found any laundry or shower facilities on the site but to be fair we didn't explore the whole site and we have our own in the RV. There is a Navy Exchange close by and a mini mart with a gas station but no diesel fuel that I saw. There is a McDonalds next to a Neighborhood Walmart a short distance from the Exchange but I would avoid the McD's. There reviews are poor and I found out why. I saw a crew member eating from a cooker basket and licking his fingers before going back to work on the food line. Even with the bad parts I would still stay again, but be better prepared for what I found.

I was disappointed that I couldn't get a reservation at Charleston AFB, but after staying at Goose Creek for one week, I was pleasantly surprised with our stay at this campground. First, there isn't a security gate to this campground, but we felt very safe and secure. One has to travel through a military housing area to get there so this helps keep people out that don't belong there. As far as the campground, its basic, but the distance between sites is adequate for privacy and the entire campground is very quiet. Also, we found the drive into the historic area of Charleston to be reasonable. The Porch restaurant is a classic place to have lunch or dinner and the historic house tours are very enjoyable. There is so much history in the City and surrounding area. We really enjoyed a carriage ride, because it was easy to experience the surroundings at a slow pace like you were walking, but having the docent explain the sites and history at the same time was outstanding.

Foster Creek is a nice and quiet RV Park. It is a converted trailer park. Close to all Charleston attractions. There is no bath house at present. They have a trailer type bath house but it's out of commission. The spots are quite big. I have my 45' coach backed in and my 24' car trailer parked in front of it. The patio area is a paved the entire length of the spot. All spots are back in but there is plenty of room to maneuver. The park is about half full. Camp host is very friendly. Will definitely return here.

Maybe this RV park was a trailer park in it's previous life? Nevertheless, it was just what we needed as a "home base" with which to go into Charleston to explore Forts Moutrie and Sumter. Not within a gated area, we still felt very safe as it's located through and off to the side of one of Joint Base Charleston's housing areas. The friendly camp host met us for check-in. On the right of our site, the next site over was quite far away, on the left side our slide almost touched the neighbor's awning. They need to fix some potholes. Cannot comment on any facilities, cannot even remember seeing a bathhouse or laundry, but then we weren't looking. Did see a playground and a basketball court. Navy Exchange close by, never saw signs for a commissary. Would stay again if in the area.

Just FYI, the bathrooms and laundry if you need them are inop. Looks like they are working on them but don’t think they will be back in service anytime soon, I was watching the guy who looks like he is responsible for park maintenance, and by the looks of him, he’s not moving fast for anything. Have no complaints about anything else. There’s nothing at the park to do, but it’s a great base camp for visiting Charleston. Sites were long and level with good space between them. Verizon and T-Mobile worked fine. The base is unsecured but still has all the usual, commissary, shoppette, pool, gym, auto hobby shop, bowling alley, ect. If you like to ride trail bikes or go for a long walk, the park has access onto the Marrington Plantation trail which is a nicely well-kept multi use trail with wonderful views of the creek, fun little bridges and other hidden gems if you walk/ride enough of the trail. There are motivational signs throughout the 20+ miles of trails like, “if you ain’t first, your last”, “where we are going, you don’t need roads”, and a bike park that is out in the middle of nowhere that has fun confidence building obstacles for trail/mountain bikers. We initially had 2 weeks reservations but extended it for 30 days and then another 2 weeks so we spent a total of 2 months. Had no issues with extending but did have to move once. Even though you can stay for 180 days, only saw one "long termer".

Just to add a current - 2021- review for this Fam Camp. What I like best - the cost! $22/night for FHU is great! Be aware that you pay for your entire stay when making your reservation and their policy states no refunds. I don't know if that is a current policy (based on COVID situation everyone seems to offers refunds). Size of sites and space between sites is great! Most sites appear to be pretty level - ours definitely is. Some sites have a bit of shade - but we requested satellite friendly and it's perfect. We have not seen the camp host. We did get something to put in our window indicating our length of stay, but that's it. Not that I have needed to see the host, so not a big deal. The playground is taped off and unable to be used, however there are playgrounds in the housing area (within walking distance). We've had a LOT of rain and some sites have standing water, but not ours. Power outage at commissary and NEX yesterday for over 2 hours - no outage at the RV park. Yes, there are still ants.... No bathhouse or laundry at the park. Good Verizon and ATT reception. Hotspots worked great. DirecTV Satellite excellent. The commissary is great and open Tues-Sun. NEX is small. Everything you need nearby and great for exploring the area. We had a hard time getting someone on the phone to make reservations. Our site number was changed before arrival and we were not notified. Our email also indicated a 4 pm check-in and check in is NOON. Fortunately, I finally got someone on the phone before we arrived. Easy in and out for big rigs. Directions on this website are great. Our GPS wanted us to turn earlier, but directions here are less turns and super easy. No dog park (there is a very large one in the housing area next to the closest playground). You can walk or ride your bikes here. Even connects to a local trail. Definitely a good place to stay as long as you are aware that this is NOT an RV resort.

Lovely FamCamp at Joint Base Charleston, Foster Creek SC..... easy to follow driving directions following militarycampgrounds.us Sites were fairly level and unshaded, leaving good satellite reception. Water pressure was good, electric was steady. Good TMobile reception. Camp Host was available and friendly, bringing us our paperwork as soon as we were set up. Reservations and payment are made over the phone, and once approved, you are given your site number. No Gate at this base, just drive in, find your site and set up. But, we were not able to use our Air Force FamCamp frequent camper cash or get our book stamped, as there was no place to sign in....Once inside and set up, Camp Host will need to see your ID to authorize use. Distant train noises, expected loudspeaker events, but little other than these. Close to housing areas. There is also a fenced dog park for use! Filled with wood chips instead of grass, it was a welcome romp for our pup. Fireants are prevalent here..... but it is the south, and they live here. Had two steady days of rain.... sites 2,3,and 4 experienced a bit of standing water, but was mostly drained the day after the rain.

We pulled in today expecting to see a mud hole with water everywhere, but to our surprise it was a very clean park, I didn't see any mud any where, The grass was very well taken care of and the sites were clean. The site we were assigned was fill with another user, but one phone call and the Host immediately came over reassigned us to another site, and stay with us to insure every thing was good. We haven't been down to the laundry room and bathroom cause we most like won't use them. We will be here for 8 nites and as of today we'll be back if we're every on the east coast.

This is the poorest excuse for a campground by far the worst I have stayed at. My site along with others turn into a swampy mud hole when it rains. The bathroom / laundry room is virtually a closet with 3 washers & 3 dryers no room for 2 patrons at the same time. The deck out side this area is rotting and falling apart it needs to be condemned. The MWR Park Manager lives in the campground and her residence looks pretty run down as well. Either the manager does not care or is not capable or lacks the backing of MWR Officer. If you are looking for a nice place this is not it. In my opinion MWR is taking the profits from the campground and using them elsewhere it's obvious they are not reinvesting in the park.

This is a poor excuse for a campground to date the worst I have stayed in. When it rains my site turned in to a swamp water and mud everywhere amoung several others. MWR Campground Manager lives in campground her place looks as run down as the rest of the park. Deck to bath room trailer which also contains a literally a closet with 3 washers 3 dryers no room for more than one person at a time back to the entrance this deck should be condemned if is literly falling a part and rotted. This place needs a person with management skills or MWR just doesn't care about maintaining the campground it appears they are using the revenue from the park for other things and not reinvesting it in the park. This place could be a nice campground with proper management!!!

I stayed here on several extended stays. It's terrible as an RV park. Run-down, upkeep and cleaning is nearly non existent. It's ok if you're just looking for a place to park when traveling through the area or here for specific purpose such as visiting a loved one who is stationed here. It's not a destination that is close to any attractions. Closest cities, Goose Creek, North Charleston, nothing to see there and unattractive. Most attractions are at least 1/2 hr away depending on traffic, which is horrendous during commuting times. Oddly enough, the Air Force Base campground, 1/2 hr away, managed by the same upper management, is top notch! Go figure. On the plus side, except for major holidays, rarely full.

We had reservations for January 2018. We made these reservations in November 2017 for a 4 day stay. Who could predict that Charleston would be hit by a snow and ice storm during the time we were scheduled to stay at Foster Creek RV Park. We never made it out of Florida as the roads were to dangerous to travel on as well as Hwy 17 in SC being closed. Not to mention all of the accidents due to icey roads. We called Foster Creek to obtain a refund or even reschedule but they insisted on no refunds. There was no way of us knowing 30 days out that a snow storm was approaching. With that type of situation, snow and ice storm, I believe their policy should be changed and allow users to obtain a full refund under those types of circumstances. Sure it was only $88 dollars buy my point is that the reason for the impromptu cancellation was not anything we could control.

Stay at this facility every year, as it is close to downtown Charleston and very reasonable price. I am writing this review based on my current reservation. I made the reservations well in advance during our 6 month RV adventure and wanted to stop at Foster Creek since it would be our last stop from Florida to our home in Virginia. My sister was recently hospitalized due to serious health issues and what appeared to be a short stint in the hospital followed by Home nursing care, turned out to be a longer than expected hospital stay. This would require us to cancel our reservation and when the day came make a bee line back to Bassett, VA. The facility charges you up front for the total stay and states that there will be no refunds, no situations will be taken. I find it atrocious that this facility has this "No refund for any reason policy" We will be out our money and that is too bad. We have travel in our RV about 6 months/year sin 2013 and cannot recall 1. Any Park (civilian or military) that charges you upfront for your stay, 2. Has a cancellation policy that keeps the total charge. This needs to be reviewed. For a park that is not up to par with other Military Campgrounds, what is going on????? This posting is a warning to those looking forward to making reservation.

The overall location is good. The park is in dire need of clean-up. The camp host is friendly but his site could use some clean up also. The bathrooms are pretty dirty and laundry facilities are in need of repair and a good cleaning. Wifi works well.
