Much improvement since last year. New spaces/roads are paved with full hookups. No cable TV but 19 over the air TV channels. WiFi is available but most times I had to take laptop and drive around CG until it synced up. Signal strength is 5 bars all over CG. CG is extremely well maintained. When someone leaves within minutes a camp host is on site to clean and ensure site is ready for next patron. Noise level during the day is not unbearable but expected since being nearly on top of the air strip, skeet shooting range, small arms shooting range and some base construction. Since seeing Charleston during the day is the main reason for being here the daily noise is not a concern. Downtown Charleston is a straight shot down I-26. Base exchange/commissary is very convenient. Dining facility is walking distance and serves good food very cheap. Pet vet is behind office in case of emergency. Shower/laundry houses are immaculately clean. After the word gets out about the improvements here I expect it may be well populated but so far except for the early part of April the CG has had numerous spaces open. I usually call for a status when I am within 1-2 hours since they don't take reservations. Overflow is concrete slab with electric & water and if that is full the camp host will make extraordinary effort to at least find you a dry camp spot until someone departs which is usually within a day or two. So far the camp hosts have said they have turned no one away.
