The current price for a 50a FHU is $45 per night. Because we made reservations only about a month ahead, we are having to move campsites every 2-3 days. Besides the numbered FHU sites, there are no hook up sites with letter designations. This is a shady, tall tree park that could use a few trees removed from the driveways to make access easier for large rigs. The site we’ve spent the most time in is #15, a sideways site that is 4” off level side to side and 2” front to back. We carry lots of wooden 12”x12” blocks, so we’ve made it work. We haven’t used the shower house, but I’m told it’s clean. The laundry room has 3 sets of machines, but one set doesn’t work. This is a huge joint base with 2 commissaries, 2 exchanges, 2 golf courses, 4 churches and a variety of restaurants (Texas Roadhouse) and fast food locations. We are enjoying our stay despite the minor inconveniences.

We stayed from July 1-14, 2024 and we have no complaints. The campground is fairly spread out and you have plenty of room at your site and you cannot really see anyone next to you. The only tough part is the access roads are narrow for a 38' DP towing a trailer but we managed and we even had plenty of room next to us to store our trailer. The McChord side of JBLM is quiet with the occasional sounds of a C-17 coming or going but nothing to overpower our nighttime A/C blasting in the bedroom. All the utilities worked great and I was even able to screw the stinky slinky into the sewer drain without fear of it popping off! We also hit the gym which was empty and the BX and Commissary which were somewhat busy. On the Fort Lewis there is a Texas Roadhouse if you so desire. We came in the Logistics Gate which is actually Exit 122B off I5 and it appears the exits have been recently renumbered but are still labeled well. This gate was nice for our big rig and I would highly recommend it. We were told you cannot receive packages at the park which is not a big deal. If we get a similar site we would stay again.

Second time we have stayed here. 35' motorhome with a TOAD. Convenient, safe, affordable. The visit we stayed in two sites; #8 and #37. Site 8 was in the small loop and close to other sites. There were a few long timer AD families there. Site 37 was in the big loop and lots of room. Both sites were fairly level, though we did use blocks under our tires for both. Utilities were ok. Sewer in site 37 is in front and kind of up hill a little. Also at 37 the water pressure was really low. Spoke with the office and it was improved while we were there. Electricity good. Able to run both roof A/Cs. Tons of shade in site 8, partial in site 37. Though there is a trade-off. The shade is from tall pines, which drop tons of small pine needles and if it is warm, quite a bit of sap. Office hours are limited, but staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The two campground hosts were very friendly and helpful. There is no Wi-Fi and the cell signal is very weak. We used a mobile hotspot with a cellphone booster and had a good signal for internet. Bathrooms were clean when we used them. Disappointed in the laundry. Only 3 pairs of machines, and two pairs were out of order, so only one washer and one dryer. The change machine was also out of order and the sign said to go to the office, but since their hours are limited, that was difficult. We got rolls of quarters at the bank near the BX. Facilities are showing their age, but are workable. It was a good stay for us. Also, I have included a picture of a map for the routing from the Madigan Gate to the RV Park. If you are over 32', they recommend you use this route, as there are no barricades to wind through that way. It is off Exit 122B.

We stayed 11 nights at JBLM Holiday Park, McChord Field, WA, in July 2023. The trees were tight backing in our site, but we were able to do it. Once in the site it was plenty big enough and fairly clean. Nice picnic table, charcoal grill, and fire ring. Two sets of bathrooms and shower rooms were spacious and well maintained. Didn't use the laundry room. Small playground for the kids, Cell service was a bit spotty with AT&T. Roads inside the park were narrow but enough. Two loops plus quite a few dry camp sites. Nice pavilion near the office. Office hours on the main signs are wrong. Open 10AM-4PM Mon-Fri. Also had Sat hours, but I missed them. We had to extend during our stay and the office was great about handling it. We'll be back again! We camped at Holiday Park FamCamp in a Fifth Wheel. If you're over 32 feet, try using the Madigan gate. About 1 1/2 hour drive to Mt Rainier NP, we went to Paradise, but about the same distance to Sunrise. Do go to Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, Dash Point State Park beach, and Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle.

Very quiet campground that offers many types of camping (RV/Tent/dry camping) and the cost is probably the best on the west coast, including the RV park located on North Ft Lewis. While we had great weather while staying this week, be aware that the RV sites are situated under beautiful trees. These trees during the summer months have a tendency to drop fine "sap" on everything that you have outside, including the slide covers, patio awning and car/truck. A quick wash takes the sap off but again, be aware. They have replaced the washer/dryers with front load style machines. One dryer and one washer was not working during our stay. On our next trip we plan on staying at the RV sites at North Ft Lewis.

Great place to stay if you want to do some visiting in the Olympia/Tacoma area. Easy access on base, spacious RV sites with full hook ups and many trails to walk or ride bikes around the base. The only reason I rated facilities down, there was only one working washer at that time. The nice lady who checked us in said they were waiting for new washers to arrive. Other than that, we would certainly stay here again!

Of the three campgrounds in the are, this one definitely has the most shade. Even through it is at the end of the flighline, the noise isn't too bad. It is also pretty close to the Exchange and other services.
Military Campground near Tacoma, WA! JBLM's Holiday Park is a great place to enjoy the shade!

We needed a last minute spot and Lydia was very accommodating. We only need 14 days of dry camping. We also stored our fifth wheel for a week at only $5.00 per day.

We stayed here to visit family on the base during the Thanksgiving week. We had stayed here before many years ago and did enjoy our time here. The commissary/exchange and gas station are close by. When we visited below, they were adding sewer to most of the RV sites, which is certainly very nice especially if you are staying here for several days. Our site, #32 was on a loop that did have the newer sewer hook ups and easy access. Access to the base was via the main gate on Bridgeport Way, and I had no issues at all entering or leaving in my 30' Class C pulling a Jeep Cherokee. We did not use the laundry or bathroom facilities so I couldn't rate their cleanliness. The nice addition is to be able to watch the C-5's and other aircraft do their touch-n-go's on the adjacent airstrip; just love hearing that "sound of freedom"!

Holiday is much different from the other two military fam camps at Joint Base Lewis-McChord as it is very wooded and has no access to American Lake. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I was close to the office (Site #2) and was glad I have a small rig (22 ft) as with lots of trees it can be a challenge to back it for a lot of sites. I was at Camp Murray for June so I was glad to go check out the park beforehand. My site had a full septic tank which was looked at but not resolved while I was there. I was warned about this from the prior occupant whom used it at an excuse why he was checking out late (noon). I made sure to start early so I wouldn't have that problem as you had to stop and start the drain to insure it didn't overrun. No cable or wifi at the sites but a decent amount of over the air channels are available. Clubhouse wasn't open so unless you sit on office porch you won't have wifi. Laundry was $1 for wash and 25 cents for 15 mins of dry and change machine is available. A bit noisy since located at the end of the runway but prefer jet noise over road noise any day. I will return to this park if I am in the area again & Camp Murray is not available.
