What does "forever" mean? was created by fiatspider79
I make sure the "forever" selection is picked every time I log in and every time I connect to the site I am asked again to log in. My Funk and Wagnal's tells me that "forever" should include the next time I connect.
It is a petty question but given some of the locations I connect from an extra click means a lot of time wasted. So is it a) Operator Error b) A revised definition of the word "forever", or 3) A glitch in the otherwise truly outstanding new format? As you can tell, I am also not very good at indexing.
Semper Fi,
Glenn

Probably answer 3. This option sets the timeout for the cookie written to your system. It works for me, sometimes. But I also have to log in other times.
Now that I'm aware, I'll investigate it further.

Larry,
I too suffer from the "short forever" problem. I use Firefox 2, and am able to stay logged on on another similar site. I believe that the other site (nuwaowners.org) uses the same software as you do on this one because many of the features are the same.

I recently made a change which appears : to have resolved the "forever" cookie issue. I also made a couple changes which appear to have sped the website up a bit. But I'm still going to pursue a long-term speed fix, as we continue to grow everyday.

this post is kind of interesting because I'm always "logged in" directly every time I enter the site... unless I've kicked out the cookie during CPU maintenance -- but then, when I re-log, it always has come directly in without a new password log-in ... so, I don't know if I did it differently in the beginning ... but it works for me each time ...
