SJAFB RV Entry/Exit Changes

Slocumb Gate is under repairs for the next month. In/outbound commercial traffic only. Been some confusing messages about entry and exit procedures over the last year. Finally got clarity and wanted to share here with our RV friends. Always a terrific idea to call the Defenders at (919) 722-1212 prior to arrival at any gate. Know your length over all, and be patient. :)
You might wish to update your notes, and hopefully, update this site.

Procedures concerning RV transit outside of weekly duty hours are as
follows:

We ask that personnel call the ECC, 722-1212, giving us a minimum of 30
minutes notice they are going to be arriving to Berkeley Gate. All transit
will take place through the Berkeley gate. Please be aware that there may be
a delay if a patrol is temporarily unavailable due to dispatch. The RV
driver will surrender their identification card upon arrival to the gate and
initiate their hazards prior to entering the bollard serpentine. Be prepared
to surrender your identification until transit of the gate is complete.
Drivers are ultimately responsible for any damage to government property.

For both inbound and outbound traffic, Security Forces will assist with the
removal of the outermost bollard from each set if necessary, giving the
driver ample space to navigate the serpentine. The personnel in the RV will
stop immediately after the bollard series to act as a blocking force until
the bollards are replaced. Once this is complete, the RV driver will be
given back their authorized identification card and be cleared for departure
or entrance of the installation.

Failure to pre coordinate with the ECC will result in untimely delays at the
gate, and a potential for delayed traffic flow. This applies to both inbound
and outbound traffic. Be prepared for inspection upon entering the
installation at any point.
