I live in the local area and I see many LARGE RVs come down Point Peter Rd to get to the Eagle Hammock RV park on base. The Gate at the end of Point Peter Rd (St Marys Gate) is permanently closed. I can only assume that most people not local to the area are probably following their GPS and that would be the closest gate to the RV park if it were open. If your GPS takes you to Point Peter Rd DO NOT GO THAT WAY! Large RVs also have a hard time turning around at the end of this road once they get to the end and realize that the gate is closed. Use the Stimson or Franklin gates which are on SPUR 40 to get on base. We see people come down that way at least once a month and then have to do a 500 point turn to turn around and go back to whence they came. I hope this helps someone avoid this.
