Recognizing fellow members was created by a Guest
this is a great site and I often wonder if there are any other members at the CG that we are at. Maybe we could come up with some type of "identifier" that would let other members who drive past know that a fellow member is camping there. I just thought I would toss this out and see what kind of response it generates.

I always wonder the same thing. It's been suggested before, to have some type of "RV Decal" to identify ourselves as users of this website. In addition, it would help spread the word to fellow vets about the website.
As with most everything else, $$ is the main issue. I may look into it, but is there enough interest with everyone to put another decal on your RV, or window, or ???
I've also looked at adding some type of "Geomap" for the website, where users can place a marker on the map where they're located at. But I haven't found what I'm looking for, yet. There's maps that will do it automatically, based on your IP address. But that isn't reflective of where you're REALLY located.

the geomap is an excellent idea and so is a decal of some form. But they will take a while to implement. So in the mean time, how about this: We all go to a stationery store or Wal*Mart and buy a $1.50 set of star stickers. Then we place two blue stars near the door of our rig. Two to make sure that we put it there on purpose and that a grandchild didn't simply decorate for us and blue in honor of our founder and leader the retired Air Force guy.
Thoughts?

the Stars sound like a good idea. I wonder how many of us (members) are also Frequent Camper members? If we are FC members, we could put the Blue Stars next to our Frequent Camper Decal. I put my FC decal on my slide. It is to big to have on the rig elsewhere. If we put them on the door, would they would not be visable when the door is open. Maybe we could put them next to the door by the handle.
Guess we will wait and see what others think.

A decal is a great idea. I suspect that if Larry gets a decal designed, he will probably sell enough of them to make a little more money for his website. Frankly, I would gladly pay an annual fee for my subscription to this website. It would probably not cost more than buying the Military Living Campground Book and it is surely much more usable.
I visit this site every day for at least an hour to look at recent reviews and to check out new posts in the Forums. I think that Larry has a money maker here with his website which is rapidly becoming indispensable for its users.
