Anyone seen the Admin lately?

I tried starting a new group this last week end, but it's up for approval by the Admin. How often does the Admin come around?....just checking...

The Admin (me) comes around 2-3 times a day. The problem with starting a new group is, I don't get a notification. I'm not used to having to go check for new groups and approve them, so I haven't checked lately. I'll go check and approve your group in a few minutes.

My other option is to allow groups without approval, but this opens us up to SPAM. So far, we've been pretty lucky and haven't had much abuse of the website. But I'm not ready to risk it (yet).

I am updating the "Community" portion of the website soon, Perhaps a a admin notification for new groups is a new option.

I understand that. I moderate on another forum and them suckers are everywhere.....

With the "Community" feature of this website down, the new group won't be available until after the other problems are resolved.

I'm working on it - perhaps a couple days, though.

When we ran a different camping website we had lots of trouble with 'spam' and also hackers stealing the addresses and also using private info for other purposes.

If it were me, I'd keep this site as safe as possible - one, because if someone gets in and damages it, it's alot of work to restructure it, and two, that info is private, and I'd sure like it to stay that way.
