I understand the colored clusters, but what do the colors of the pushpins represent?

Good question.

I've updated the FAQ regarding the map colors .

Red is the "normal" push pin color.
Blue designates that this recreation facility is "featured". A Featured Facility has an in-depth review and article available in the NEWS and ARTICLES section of the website.

At the risk of seeming ignorant...what is the significance of the yellow and blue circles with numbers inside on the campground locator map?
