Camp Ground Ratings

I am a new member.

I came here from the Smart website.

The first thing I did was go to the Camp Site area. I went to places I have been. I am seriously disappointed that anyone can give the ratings that the members here give. It is no wonder that the FamCamps are in such bad repair. Why squatters are allowed to stay for years at a time. How can anyone rate a FamCamp without a total full hook up with 50 amp service any higher than a 3. New members are buying nicer equipment. People like myself. who are 100% disabled and therefor are traveling now before I can not walk, buy nice RV's that require 50 amp service and camp sites that are level, not on 20 degree hills with the water or sewer on opposite sides of the coach so you have to run your sewer line under the coach and then hope that even the 30 amp service will work.

I could go on for hours about what I have found at FamCamps that you have highly rated. You the members of this group are responsible for the awful conditions of the FamCamps. You rate places like you expect to be out in some remote place and are just happy as clams with nothing.

START EXPECTING TO BE TREATED WITH DIGNITY!!

Right now you are staying in places barely above the poverty level. Is that what the military made you into? If it is, then I am very happy I did not make the military my career and become some yes man to some idiot sargeant or officer. Being 100% physically disabled is a blessing compared to the mind whipping you all have apparently endured.

When I was in the Military, I told more than one higher ranking officer he was an idiot. They were all so suprised someone would call them what they were that I never got into any trouble. These idiots were too afraid to challenge me because they knew they were wrong. One idiot full Bird dodo was going to turn back all of my reports as unsatisfactory. I said fine do what you want and he did. Then I wrote to my congressman and had another officer sign what was said actually happened. The dodo quickly backtracked when he got his letter to explain himself.

Stand Up!! Respect yourself, rate FamCamps tough and expect better or you will see your beneifit continue to spiral downward.

Personally, I rarely go to FamCamps because of the junk I find in them and I mean people and equipment. Most of you gripe but do nothing. I listened to one Officer complain that the cost went up from $10/night to $12/night and he wrote the Base Commander. Give me a break. Has the do everything for you military made you that dependent on freebies? If so, then expect what you pay for, crap.

Whoa ! ! ! Somebody needs a "hug"!.... Such an attitude will get you everywhere in "life" I am certainly glad that I don't get up every day as "ANGRY" as you.....
Personally, I have found MWR Camps very good, but I would suggest to our dear "friend" above that if you don't like what has been provided to you, then for God's sake, stay elsewhere.

Expectations for everyone will be different. If I'm a tent camper, I may feel a military campground is great and deserves a rating of 5. This may be the same FamCamp that Tominator thinks deserves less than a rating of 3. Everyone has their own expectations.

Personally, I don't agree with Tominator's recent review and rating for FE Warren AFB. I was also stationed there, and recently visited the FamCamp. I don't think the conditions are anything like what Tominator's review states. It's an "OK" campground, not a RV resort. But again, we all have different expectations.

I love boondocking in Quartzsite, AZ, while others can't stand the place. Everyone has their own expectations.

I wish Tominator luck in improving the military campgrounds. Everyone can use improvement. (Did I say everyone has their own expectations?)

One can communicate a valid point without verbally abusing the receipant(s). I personally don't appreciate it. Does that fall in line with your comment "Stand Up!! Respect yourself" ?
