From the NAS Key West Facebook site. I checked because always have been curious about what a goat rope it must be when a hurricane threatens. That road must be a zoo and where do you go? This may be easier since the Miami area is relative safe now with the westerly track.

I was stationed in KW in the 70's.
At that time, the rule was that after the winds got to a certain level, all bridges were closed.
The worst thing that could happen would be to have some boat or RV get over turned on a bridge and all the people behind stuck there.

Heed the warnings, get out when told.

Also have to wonder how the panhandle area campgrounds will fare in this storm: Tyndall, Eglin, Pensacola, Hurlburt, etc. Current reports have Isaac heading up the Gulf and hitting the panhandle.
