Grassy pond

Going to grassy Pond in GA this winter. Does anyone have any comments good or bad, thanks

Web site shows the park is closed for renovation.

Grassy Pond was supposed to reopen in September. You might want to give them a call to confirm.

Do call, and let us know the latest status. The following is the most recent I'm aware of, and was published in our September eNewsletter:

Grassy Pond Recreation Area, Moody AFB, Valdosta, GA - The following message was received from Outdoor Recreation: "Thanks to all of our customers for their patience while the FamCamp is being upgraded- The following upgrades are complete: water connections underground, enhanced wi-fi, new cable ,roads and sites leveled and graveled, brush/trees trimmed. The following upgrades are currently in the works: electrical upgrade, communal fire pit. The Round House has not seen any improvement to date. We are pursuing avenues to obtain needed funding for renovations. This will not delay the reopening of FamCamp. A re-opening date has not been firmly determine, but we are looking at the possibility of 15 Sep 12. Reservation may begin on 1 Aug 12 for reservations on/after 1 Sep 12. More to follow. Will be passing through that area in two weeks - it was surely in need of upgrades, so hope it perked itself up. Will stop in and check its progress first hand as we pass by ... if no one else sees it before then... Monkey and Genie

Grassy Pond is open for business. Stayed there last month on the way to Florida.
