Recently received an e-mail from a friend at Kings Bay and was told no money/gambling games are allowed in the community room anymore. Anyone know anything about this and does it apply to individuals who decide to get a group together to play poker or any other game using money? Or is it the games on the schedule the campground runs like card bingo on Monday night and Bunco? Folks are already complaining about the price and not going there so why stop the social aspect too?
Sad but true, the management has put a stop to the money games run by the camp host, you can still get together for private games. No more money games like Monday night bingo or bunco, the last ice cream social was a bust, maybe 12 people there and 5 of them were the hosts!!
I am the volunteer social host at Kings Bay. While it is true MWR is enforcing rules that have existed for a long time I am working to be creative and have fun things to do. Monday night our Ice Cream Social had over 40 people and we were entertained with a lovely program of Bell Ringing. Bunco on Friday mornings is still taking place. I have done two successful trips with many more coming. I will do my best to have fun social activities available for all guests at Kings Bay. Wait until you see all that is planned for January!
