Oak Grove Park vs. Blue Angel Recreation Park was created by milomattox63
My family is looking at staying in the Pensacola area this summer. Can anyone tell me which of these would be better to stay at. Are there any benefits to one over the other? We will be traveling with 2 teenagers and we will be staying in a cabin or trailer. Is Oak Grove worththe additional $65 per night?
Thank you for any info you can provide.

I don't understand the 65 dollars a night deal unless you are talking about the cabins. I've stayed at Oak Grove many times and I think $23 is about the max I've paid for a campsite. At least that's what they are charging me for my visit there in April. As for as which place is better. I like Oak Grove because you can watch the Blue Angels practice from your campsite and the museum is just down the street. Blue Angel Park is nice if you can get into the newer campsites rather than the sandy ones. The newer campsites have concrete pads. I've gone out there to look around so I know what they look like. You can't make reservations there so you take a chance when you go there. I perfer having a confirmed reservation and will continue using Oak Grove.

We stayed at Oak Grove and loved it, except the Blue Angels cancelled a scheduled practice there to go to Canada. We went to the beach on the bay that was very relaxing, just did not want to get in the water. It was not that high last year. The high rate may be the winter time rate that most Florida RV parks have to make a 100% profit off snowbirds. We will never snowbird in Florida due to the high rates.

I don't know about the high rates in the winter. We are usually there in March and/or April and just made reservations there for March of this year and was quoted $23. Call the office.
