Heading to the Keys in a week or so. Want to stopover somewhere CHEAP or FREE just above the Keys & then begin our Key West journey early the next day. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
I always stay a night at the Miccosukee Casino, located at the intersection of us41( Tamiami Trail ) and 997.... free parking just check inside casino with security for a pass. great food inside..ask for the lobster special which isn't on the menu,but which they still serve to " us" in the know..... only 25-30 min from us1.... 997 south will end at the start of keys. enjoy.
The Miccosukee Casino a great freebee.. that is our "spring board" to the Keys.. RON at the Casino and then South on FL-997 in the AM.. don't forget to fuel along FL-997.. prices only get higher on the Keys..
Will miss NASKW this winter.. but shall return in 2015.. Another boat ride to Fort Jefferson should be in order then.. Fort Jefferson is (in our opinion) the best tourist excursion that Key West has to offer.. Discount tickets at NAS MWR..
