Foster Creek RV and Villas, Charleston SC

Anyone been there recently? Does it fill up for winter months? What did you like or not like about the base and campground?

We have been there several times and as recently as last winter and are returning again for a month this winter. The sites are huge as it used to be a trailer park and utilities are good and it is very quiet. The host is top notch and Outdoor Adventure Center folks are very helpful if you need info about the area. It is a homestead type park and they keep about 10-12 sites open for travelers and you can stay for 28 days at a time. Be sure to drive into the park not to OAC as the host knows your site and go to OAC to register and pay after you are set up. There is no building for functions in the campground but we love to tour the area and a drive to Charleston is not far and so much to see and do there. Shopping on the base is adequate and a drive to Charleston AFB is convenient if you like more of a variety. It really depends on what you are looking for in a military campgound and if you have not read the reviews I would suggest you do so as opinions can vary greatly.

Thanks so much for the info.. Is Foster Creek the best fam camp of the bases there? Where is most of the good shopping as far as on base goes, comm, exchange, etc?

I am here right now for the last 5 days. It is a nice park. Good WiFi and bathroom and nice laundry. Shopping is not within walking distance. Wife had a little trouble finding commissary not a big sign at road. A lot around the area not a bad place to roost for awhile. The camp host is great. The office is not on site and I have only talked to them on the phone and paid with a card. Host was expecting us and very knowledgeable on information. I do not know, but I am sure it might not be long term for winter. Looks like some have been here for awhile. .... Clarence
