Going south in the winter as you may know will find military campgrounds full and you better decide soon as you should go to a campground that will take a reservation. There is a new campground in N.C. called Cherry Point at the Cherry Point MCAS, Eagle Hammock at Kings Bay Sub Base in Ga., Aviation Arbor at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans (in Belle Chase), La. and Pelican Roost at the Mayport Naval Base, Fl.There are many in the Fl. Panhandle, some take reservations and some do not. The others mentioned by name all take reservations and are many of the best and popular military campgrounds. Look at the info and reviews and it will tell you just about anything you need to know. Good luck, have fun and stay safe. Know if you need any help with your first time rental/rv trip we are all there to help you so just knock on a door or ask anyone you see if you need help.

Fort Fisher in North Carolina and Lott's Island in Savannah, GA are also open and take reservations. Have a safe trip! :)

The only thing wrong with being retired is that you never get a day off!
