cruising out of port canaveral/manatee cove

Sent this earlier, but don't think it posted.

We are thinking about taking a cruise out of port Canaveral while we are in Florida this winter. Does anyone know if we we might be able to leave our camper and truck in the over flow area at Manatee Cove while we are gone... And does anyone know if it is feasible to get a taxi to come to the campground to take us to the cruise port and back? Don't know if anyone has done this or not.

We were also thinking of a cruise out of the area within the next few months. I'm also interested in any answers.

Same thing for us. We thought that we would stay at KARS campground. We drove through it last year in Feb. and there were plenty of open camp sites.

FYI - we crusied out of Jacksonville, Fl. a few years ago and we left our car in a public lot and took the shuttle to the ship. It was cheaper to park at this public lot than to park at the cruise ship lot.

I forgot about KARS. Might try contacting them also. If ANYBODY has done this, please let us know.

If they have the room they will let you pay to stay in overflow but call them first to make sure. I stay there often but this is their time to be full with all the snowbirds. their numbers are (321)494-2042/2054. You will have to go thru the service gate for big truck inspections, it's about mid way on the fence on A1A. If it's after hours then you'll have to call law enforcement to have them come open the gate. Don't worry the number to the gate keeper is posted on the gate. The fam camp office has moved and now under construction so you will need to go to the outdoor rec center first if after hours then of course you will have to go to the host. Outdoor rec is at the end of Atlas by the water & marina. They have weird hours and if it's 5 till closing they won't help you but rather send you to the host. I hope this helped. As for taxis I think they allow them on if not everyone at the camp is great and like family and I'm sure they wouldn't mind taking y'all there.
