I have no complaints about the park or the people. The complaint that I sent to the Base commander is that the info on there web site and the people checking you in need to say that you will be very limited if you are non-navy. I am retired DOD civilian Air force. When entering the base my ID and my wife's spouse ID was excepted. At check-in we were made aware of the base restaurant, aquatics center, etc. I paid with a credit card and was advised of no refund policy if you leave early. Over the next three days we were advised that we could not use any of the base facilities, not directly related to, the camp ground. We cannot have any guest even on Christmas day, and we have had problems every time we re-enter the gate. The ID requirements are changed for my wife every time. They almost refused her entry on the 3rd day, they said because I retired from the Air force I was not allowed any guest including my spouse.

I worked for the air force and retired as civil service. That does not mater as I posted that my complaint is not about policy or rules it is about being misled about access to the base and the no refund policy. Other bases told me up front what the restrictions were. Not after I paid. Some bases I have been able to have quest, use the commissary, gas station, restaurants, etc. Others I have not, but I was informed before payment. on the second day security on the base started saying that they shouldn't allow me on because I retired from an Air Force base.

What ID Card do you use to gain access to the installations?

Thanks, I was trying to insure you had the correct ID Card. If you have the DOD Common Access Card (CAC) identifying you as a "DOD Retired Civilian", you shouldn't have any problems. This card is issued as part of the Real Time Automated Personnel Identification System - RAPIDS.
