We are planning on being in the San Antonio are in early May for about two weeks. I know there are several FAMCAMPS in that area, I think 3. We have a 45ft Class A and will be staying about 2 weeks. Just looking for suggestions, especially with this big rig.
Thanks in advance

We have stayed at both Fort Sam Houston and Lackland AFB FamCamps many times - Brooks City Base has been closed for years! Neither campground will be a problem for your 45 foot MH. Enjoy your stay.

The only thing wrong with being retired is that you never get a day off!

My vote would be Fort Sam. Large, long, concrete pads, good utilities, great satelite reception. Large commissary and PX. Have fun!

I vote for Fort Sam. I know you can make reservations there but don't believe you can at Lackland. A big complaint of some is the train tracks just behind the park. It doesn't bother me as I love the sound any time of the day.

I am staying at Lackland as I write this. Today there are 3 or 4 spaces open. The best time of week to arrive to Sun thru Wednesday. Close to downtown. No reservations are accepted here. Graduations are on Thursdays and Fridays. Spaces fill up then.

Ft. Sam is always great, the construction should be finished by now going to the park.
the sites are very large and staff is friendly
only drawback is the odd way you have to drive around base to get to the PX
