I KNOW many of the management monitors, reviews (and some participate) this website.

These campgrounds are to be "recreation areas" not semi-permanent homes.

I standby my statement a few years ago. Mayport is part of the "Good Old Boy" network. I don't know if some of the other Navy parks or but I've seen it first hand at Mayport.

I've written a letter to the Mayport Naval Station Commanding Officer. He quickly responded that he's looking into the issues I raised. I have faith in the Chain of Command.

I'm new to the Military Campground sene, after being rated 100% Service Connected DAV a little over a year ago. Wife and I decided to travel some and see as much of this great Nation, while I still can.
Wife and I, along with our Daughter, and Granddaughter who uses a wheelchair, as well as my Brother/sister in law whom I sponsored, spent a very relaxing, and enjoyable week last July at Pelicans Roost, and look forward to returning for another visit. I had no problem getting the reservation for two sites on the dates I requested (they were back row, which were still great sites) but I'm afraid this won't be the case after this policy changes! I'll write to the commands concerned in an attempt to at least set aside a number of sites for short term stays, or better still as in Pelican Roost's case reserve Osprey Point for long term.
