"Sweetheart Club" & "Good ol' Boy Club&qu

I am asking for general feedback about the "sweetheart club" or "good old boy club " policies at Macdill AFB and Nellis AFB. The policies in question involves advanced reservations for extended periods of time. Which means in peak seasons the parks belong to a select few people, everyone else is S.O.L. The fact is, more than the select few folks are entitled to stay on the base, be more secure and save a few dollars. All comments are welcome. Before you reply, please declare whether or not you are a "sweetheart clubber" or a regular traveller. Thanks..Gulchman

I have stayed at Nellis now for the last three winters. We have much family here and use it as our home base for our annual physicals, dental, vision and other of lifes necessities. I play the game and make reservations 6 months in advance, and usually stay for only about 4 months. (It takes that long to accomplish all the various Dr visits and get everything done). I don't consider us as in the "Sweethart" club as we don't mingle with the other RV'ers or Staff. Not because we are anti social, we just spend a lot of our time with family in the area. I know there are usually "cliques" in almost every circle, RV'ers also, but it does not make any difference as to getting people into the park. Nellis has had plans to expand since we have been staying here, and like any other governmnet project, it is slow to take shape. I do know that except for NASCAR time (2nd week in March), that there are usually at least partial hookups available. It may not be in the "high rent" area, but if you make your reservations as early as you can, you should not have a problem. BTW, there are less expensive RV parks in the area.
I tried to make reservation for McDill for December of 2007, and have not yet got my "Confirmaton" I guess we will just wait and see.
