Patrick AFB vacancies

Is anyone currently at Patrick AFB?

I am heading down to FL in a week to see a shuttle launch - staying at Jetty Park in Port Canaveral, but it is very expensive! I know Patrick doesn't take reservations and I am wondering if I should try to get in there instead when I arrive next Tues. (2/2)- or whether they are really full and likely to remain that way? :S

Just my experiance,,very tough this time of year..There are some good CG's in the area within 25 mi of Coco Beach.. Look inland or be ready for big bucks..

We left Patrick AFB (Manatee Cove FamCamp) a little over a week ago. At that time, dry overflow only had 2 or 3 people in it. It was taking a couple days to get into a partial or full hook-up site. However, that was also during the very cold spell here. It may be busier now that the weather has improved.
