Called today to make reservations for later in the month and talked with the manager. Paving the roads within the park will start in the last week of this month and end in the first week of next month. We did get a ten day reservation with the understanding we would have to park our truck across the street near the jetties for some of our stay. The paving is a much needed upgrade from the roads as depicted below.

Great news. I'd like to read into this upgrade that the future of the RV Park is positive even though there will be major upgrades with the decision to homeport a nuclear carrier at Mayport. But I know better. If they need that real estate, it'll be history. Still hoping.

They also have the plans drawn for a clubhouse/laundry/restrooms/showers for over at Osprey Cove. I'm not sure if they have the funding for that project yet. FastEagle - maybe you can ask about it when you're there.

When we were there two years ago, the had the plans for the Osprey Cove clubhouse, and they were saying then that it would be open before summer. This was January '08. So it is evident that it is on hold.
