Uchee Creek Campground, Ft Benning

I'm trying to find the best route to Uchee Creek Campground. I'll be heading north on I-75 from Florida. I have a 40' motor home and a tow.
I was looking at Hwy 82 through Albany or Hwy 280. My concern is low under passes. Does any one have information on these routes.

We were at Uchee Creek a couple weeks ago. Real nice place.

We approached from the East on this trip. But went right by Fort Benning in December, coming from Red Bay to Florida, and took US-280 to US-27, then to US-82 to I-75 without problems. My only issue on that route was the stop and go traffic going through Birmingham.

Larry...Thanks for the info. That route is a possibility. I plan on being in Uchee Creek on or about the 10th of April.

I will be back in Red Bay on August the 14th.

Hi, I have a 36ft Class A and a tow and use 82 all the time. No problem... Watch for road construction at the I 185 entrence to Ft Benning it might still be a little tricky until they finish it.. My GPS has the camp ground in the wrong place. chech at the main gate when you get there it is not hard to find six turns in all and half of them have a sign on it, Have a nice trip,,,, ED :laugh:

Thanks for the info guys. I have reservations at Uchee Creek for April 11th. We are going to MBLC in Albany for a few day prior to Uchee Creek. From MBLC, it looks like we will be taking hwy 82 to hwy 280. I hope this will be a good route for us. We have a 40' Motor Home pulling a Jeep Liberty.
