Wife has decided she wants to visit DW, can anyone tell me if there are any Mil Campgrounds in that area? Doesnt need to be real close but not hours away so we can day trip. I havent checked with the local base MWR but I know they can order tickets for me, my son took his family down after Christmas and told me he saw some discounted military ticket sales that save a lot of $$. If anyone knows for sure on any of this help will be appreciated.

BTW we have a Travel Trailer pulled by a pickup if it matters.
MacDill AFB Tampa is not that far to Orlando 2 hrs maybe,,You will find a space there (might be a dry camping) but its still a spot..Jacksonville gets very full..Hope you enjoy your trip.
I was going to suggest Patrick AFB which is somewhere around 50-75 miles from DW. Might need a little luck getting a sight this time of year, like the previous poster said, you might want to give them a call prior to going.

Thanks for the replies, we wont be going until late may june time frame. I drive a school bus and she is a bus monitor so we will not go anywhere till school is out.
Are there no small USCG type places or NG in the area? I know one time up around Petaluma in calif we saw a small out of the way CG place that was not listed on anything. We have the Navajo AD out here, but I am not that familiar with fla. I do know that at Destin the army rebuilt it about 10 yrs ago and it was real nice.
Our original plans were to go to the cascades and Glacier till she saw the TV program!
