Just checked with Rec ctr yesterday and the new famcamp is supposed to be ready by the end of this year. I can't see that anything has been done on the location yet but, there are some stakes where it is going to be built.
Also for those that are VFW members the VFW right outside the main gate to Dyess has a campground with about 25 spaces. There are 5 spaces on the south side of the VFW building that have 50Amp and water. There is a dump at the end of the parking lot. The price is $20 a night or $300 per month and stay as long as you like. The VFW is also clearing about 12 acres on the noth side of the building for a new campground. I don't know any of the details but,have heard they are putting in 50 spaces. Time will tell.
