Trumbo Point USCG Gate - Vise -Main Gate

Hi Folks, I just returned from TP. 8 Mar 11. I stayed in the MWR Trailers. regarding using the USCG gate - While there I noticed several signs, bullentin boards, etc., that stated: "MWR Users Will use the Main Gate". Now, I didn't bother with trying to use the USCG gate. I just rode my bike out the main gate onto Palm Ave. FYI.

The CG Duty Office told me that we could exit via the pedestrian gate but have to return via the main gate. They are prohibited from giving non-active duty the combo. These Coasties weren't happy about it since it was the Squids that made them do it....on a Coastie base (but it connects to the Navy side). This came into being about 4 months ago they said. Previously you showed an ID and they gave you the code.
