If you are referring to staying on Sigsbee...it is great. You may have to stay with no hook-ups but will rotate to full hook ups. I don't think you can beat the price for staying in Key West.

When is the best time of year to visit and get a site?

Tom, active duty are the only ones allowed to make reservations. You can stay on full hook ups for 2 weeks as long as there are others waiting for a full hook up site. As you can imagine, the full hook up sites fill up fast in the December-February time frame. February is historically the busiest. There are many others here that can give you lots more information, but i thought I'd offer you my observations.

We have been there numerous times and have always gotten a site when we go from mid-April to October, have never tried other times but as you have guessed from other comments you are taking a chance of getting a site during the winter months. We have gone early April and had to wait two days for a site but when we go in the summer and fall we have always gotten a site when we drive in. We normally call and ask how full they are before we head out as we live in central Florida so an easy drive for us. Going to Key West for the first time is quite an adventure and we like to going during Hemingway days which should be coming up soon. My retired hubbys birthday is close to Hemingways so we go down and have a good time and enjoy the festivities, if you are anywhere near Florida I say go for it now and the breezes at Key West do help you deal with the heat and water, water everywhere to cool down in.
