Osprey Cove in Mayport Fl

Many of you may know that Mayport has a new RV park manager. I just left there after a 4 month stay and I am not impressed to say the least. She has control issues and seems to change things just because she can and for no apparent reason. I usually use the rule if it's not broke don't try to fix it, (she doesn't). I had several patrons say they weren't coming back because of her. I took my concerns to the MWR director as did several other patrons. Hopefully he will make some changes in her attitude or her job.

I've never stayed at Osprey but know it is the "longer" stay campground. I think after 3 or 4 months campers had to leave for some amount of time. Seemed like the perfect set up with short term campers at the Roost and longer stays at Osprey. I saw the new manager host the Chrismas party and she seemed like a personable lady that cared about the job. Out of curiosity, what policies have changed?

Have not stayed at Osprey Cove but have been to Pelican Roost twice since the new manager has taken over. She has made some much needed changes about numbers of people who for years lived in the RV park as MWR workers and now more sites available with less workers. She has plans on rotating hosts every 6 months so more folks can be hosts, also some site layout changes being made as some are too tight. I also find her to be personable and open minded and she will listen to you and any suggestions you may have. I for one like change and it is her perogative to make changes even when we do not understand why. We got used to the other managers ways and I did not always agree with them either but it did not stop us from going there. If some folks do not agree with her that is okay as in life you will never agree with everyone and everything, keeps life interesting and she has a very positive attitude and excellent credentials to do the job.

I have camped out at MAYPORT for years. Some times weekends others for a week. I still keep going back. The people there are always nice. All supplies are walking distance. I have always been treated very nice. The problem is some of the guest who are LAZY about cleaning up after their animals. I have seen when a host says winds are increasing many do NOT take the advice. Even when I have brought friends to camp, they were treated kindly. I have always found this park very clean with the BEST VIEW!

YES it is great that the SNOW BIRDS do NOT control the facility any longer!!
