Website member Roy Davis forwarded me the DoD ICE (Interactive Customer Evaluation) reply below. He had submitted an ICE question regarding the poor placement of the utility hookups at Shaw AFB FamCamp, SC.
Here's the reply he received:
"Mr Davis, thank you for your comment card in reference to the FAMCAMP here
at Shaw. During the past few years we have tried a couple of different
approaches to provide that access to the rear of each site. We installed 6"
PVC pipes from the front to the rear of each site which gave the customer three different connections to the sewer. This was at the customer's request/comment. This was approved through our Safety and Public Health offices. It worked well until a customer complaint forced us to remove the pipes. We have a new project at Air Combat Command to expand the FAMCAMP by
10 sites in FY14. We will include the upgrade of existing site sewer connections in the project. Based on availability and on a temporary basis, additional assistance may be provided by our Outdoor Recreation staff in obtaining more hose to connect to our current sewer location until this upgrade takes place. Thanks again for you inputs.

Thanks Roy!
