Route to the Grand Canyon

I'll be in UT in early September taking in Bryce and Zion then wanted to do the north rim of the Grand Canyon. On paper it looks like Hwy 89 and 89A is the direct route. For anyone that's done the route, I have a couple questions:

1- Any major problems for a 40 foot DP?
2- From the canyon area, is 89 down to Flagstaff a good road?

traveled it many times. It is also a route that is used by 18 wheelers. 89A does have some turns and hills but not bad.

Looked good on paper and Google Earth, but I needed an opinion from someone with the T-shirt. Thanks for the info.

I completed my trip to the north and south rims of the Grand Canyon. No issues with any of the roads.

Prior to that, I spend 2 weeks in Utah taking in five national parks. Awesome scenary.
