ID CARDS

I heard that ID cards are no longer renewed for spouse, and they are now permanent and don't expire.
Anyone know about this? Do we still have to renew ID cards for spouse?
T was said that all we need to do is re-enroll the spouse in DEERS, and the ID Card no longer needed as long as DEERS is updated every five years.

My wife just renewed her ID card. It expires in 5 years. If the spouse is 75 or older when her card is renewed, she gets a permanent card with no expiration date. At least that was current as of February.

I just looke at the latest copy of "Afterburner, News for USAF Retired Personnel" and there is an article about retiree ID cards an it was mentioned that "spouses' cards will read 'indef' once they turn 75".
