The budget politicians are at it again, proposing to make severe cuts to TriCare:

Larry, This is a public forum so I will refrain from saying what I really want to say, but I truely hope that all veterans come together to send all of the useless individuals behind this proposal packing.

So much for "If you like your healthcare plan you can keep it!"

Sure appears the money squanderers in Washington are trying their damndest to screw us older retirees out of more of our money so they can p___ it away some place else. Those younger in Washington that have NEVER served are all too eager to look at "all the benefits we retirees have" and sit up nights trying to figure how they can save a few bucks at our expense.

Well its not only tricare, but now its the commissary that will be scheduled to close if they have their way. They have been trying for years (dems/libs) and now have a pretty good lock on the closings. When I retired in '94 I was told in '96 that I no longer qualified for care at the local mil hospital and to go get a Dr downtown! So I went and found a good one and she has been great and still keeps us in her care.

Cut back on foreign aid, or a couple of the new toys they dont need but want so bad. Here they are trying to kill the A10, and the politicians all look the other way. There is 1 from the NE somewhere but it takes more than 1 and our sorry pols dont care a whit about it.

Sad part, so many retirees voted for the current bunch and now the chickens appear to be coming home to roost IMO.

Don't think that it's just the dems/libs. Back when Regan was president his good buddy W R Grace wanted to cut military pay as we made too much. If they cut $800 million or so from the contracts of Lockheed/Martin, Northrup/Grumman, Boeing, and all the other billion dollar multinational defense contractors instead of the commissary funds, none of them would feel it. But they, along with Kruger, Safeway etc. give a heck of a lot bigger donations to campaign funds than you or I will ever do!

Can't tell what will happen with the medical care -- but I'll bet the commissaries go to a private contractor, and our savings swill flit away on the wind and land somewhere offshore.
