Since I don't qualify for VA, TriCare Standard works great for us. No limitations on who to see and where.
You can read more about our lifestyle and our expenses on our personal website (see below).

thinking about full timing, asked this question on good sam and had a couple of positive responses. Is there anyone else out there, single, retired, decent health that is full timing. How do you work TRICARE? or VA going from region to region????
We're not full-timers but are what we call frequent timers. We spent six to eight months of the year on the road. We try to stay in military campgrounds whenever possible. We use Tricare Standard so we can use it anywhere we might happen to be without having to have a primary doctor and be restricted to a single area like Tricare Prime.
If my wife would let me sell the house I'd be full-timing in a heartbeat. Why pay expenses on two houses? I'd sell the house, bank the money for when we can't go anymore and need a home, and live in the motorhome. We've only been retired since 7/1/06 so she is not ready to give up her house yet, so it sits here with no one in it for most of the year.
I'd suggest doing it now while you have your health and can enjoy it.

Put your stuff in storage and rent the house, that way it pays it's own bills. Lazy houses, just want to sit around all day.

Can really only echo what others have said. VA works anywhere and TriCare Standard works anywhere. There is a lot of information out there, but the sources Larry gave you were about the best. See you down the road!
Look into renting your home. We rented our house, to someone from our church. We have been happy with her and her two children living in our home. We found out, if you don't live in your home for two out of 5 years, you have to a pay capital gains tax. I find this unfair, since it is not an investment property, but our only home. We are now not fulltiming, so we can help our daughter while she goes to nursing. We now have to live in our home for 2 years before we sell it. You also have to claim the rent as income, so that too must be a consideration. We are hoping to go back to fulltiming in two years, and sell our home this time.
