myPay - Your Finance Office in Your RV

myPay is the Defense Accounting and Finance Service interactive website for military retirees. You can access it at mypay.dfas.mil . You will be asked to prove who you are and select a PIN (just like your debit card.

With that single registration you can keep track of your pay by accessing your Retiree Account Statement (RAS). You can also change your address, change your tax information, even set up, change or delete allotments. And you can even change your direct deposit information.

You can do at lmost anything on myPay that you can do at a Finance Office (things requiring written proof--like death and divorce and births would be the exceptions). You can also read news about your pay, subscribe to a DFAS email news service and correspond by email with people who can answer questions (although I much prefer their 800 number which is staffed by people who actually know what they are talking about and have access to your account).

Other things you can do there are download 1099R forms faster than they can be mailed to you, obtain back copies of those forms and purchase savings bonds. And since it costs nothing and is available 24/7/365 this is a winner. Check it out and enjoy.
