New amendment to law in June 2008 states that Retirees with less than 20 years but retired under Chapt 61 (service-connected medical, non-combat related) and are IU will receive IU and Full retirement with no waiver ... does anyone know if the IU veteran must also be a TERA retiree, TERA retirees are included, no doubt about that -- but does CRDP include any veteran that has been medically retired under Chapt 61 ... TERA is a specific program, and does not include all IU veterans. I've read all the statutes and addendums, and it is still unclear whether TERA retirement is required, or if CRDP includes any and all Chapt 61 retired vets that are also IU at the VA. Does anyone know for sure, for positive about TERA. I've even asked VA direct, and they don't know.
